Unemployment is associated with impaired health. A high level of health literacy among the unemployed could contribute to maintaining their health. The analysis of a focus group discussion within the project “JOBS Program Deutschland” showed that health literacy is related to help-seeking and participation in health promotion services among the unemployed. Further research is needed on health literacy promotion among unemployed people.
