Abstract
In the scope of this paper one case history of a piled raft foundation, Messeturm tower in Frankfurt Germany, has been studied using a viscohypoplastic constitutive law in a three dimensional finite element analysis with the program ABAQUS and the user subroutine UMAT developed by A. Niemunis and the geotechnical group of the Karlsruhe university in Germany. In the finite element analysis the construction process of the Messeturm tower is modelled. The calculated results will be compared with the in situ measurements with the purpose to verify the viscohypoplastic law in a boundary value problem.
