Abstract
Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a challenging new material which enables both durable and lightweight structures. It offers a high potential to replace steel in slender and long-span structures. Therefore, it has been in the focus of research at the Institute of Structural Engineering at the University of Kassel since several years. The present paper gives an overview about the applications which become possible with this high strength and highly durable material as well as on pertinent research activities. Furthermore, recent research results with regard to the modeling of the behavior of UHPC structural members will be presented.
